Flexco is proud to be the fastener of choice in the underground mining industry. It delivers the performance, long life and easy installation that maximizes belt availability and helps keep productivity on a roll.

Designed for rubber plied and PVC solid woven belting, and for worn belts unfit for vulcanized splices, the Flexco® SR™ Scalloped Edge™ fastener features a low profile that significantly reduces the fastener’s exposure to cleaner blades, skirt rubber, and return idlers. The staggered rivet pattern also provides maximum holding ability by allowing the rivets to pass between the carcass fibers without damaging them.

A built-in viewport simplifies fastener positioning. And self-setting rivets are installed from the top side of the belt for faster installation.

Flexco® Bolt Hinged Fastener SystemFlexco® Bolt Hinged Fastener System

For belts operating over smaller pulleys – such as in construction equipment and road machinery – Flexco® Bolt Hinged fasteners are strong, dependable and easy-to-install.

Designed as a compression fastener, Bolt Hinged is fastened to the belt ends with high tensile strength bolts. These compress the plates in the belt cover. Additional holding capability is provided by the fastener teeth that inbed in the belt without damage to the belt carcass. So splice tension is distributed across the entire plate width and teeth secure the fastener to resist pull-out.

Hinged construction makes Bolt Hinged fasteners ideal for applications requiring frequent belt-length alterations, the joint can be separated simply by removing the hinge pin. On-site installation requires only portable hand or power tools.

A specially designed templet and boring tool or belt punch quickly and accurately punches bolt holes into belts. Installation is also simplified by our exclusive piloted bolt. Tapered bolt tips cradle nuts securely in place and eliminate the need to twist nuts onto bolts by hand during installation set-up.

Our heavy-duty Rivet Solid Plate Fastener System is recommended for the most demanding high-tension applications. The staggered, multiple-point attachment delivers long-lasting holding ability for mechanical ratings up to 800 PIW (140 kN/m).

Flexco® Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are engineered to meet the demands of the toughest material-handling applications. They can be applied to belts mechanically rated up to 620PIW (105 kN/m), and are commonly used on higher-tension main-haulage belts used for highly abrasive materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone, as well as coal, cement, and salt.

Bolt Solid Plate fasteners provide a strong, sift-free splice with superior holding ability. The strength of this fastener is derived from the compression of the plates with high tensil strength bolts. The bolts compress top and bottom plates to distribute splice tension evenly across the entire width of each fastener plate. For added strength and pull-out resistance, specially formed teeth penetrate deep into the belt carcass – without damaging the carcass fibers.

Specially designed templets, punches and boring tools make it easy to quickly and accurately punch holes into belts. Fasteners can then be installed on site using portable hand or power tools. Make straighter cuts – time after time – with the lightweight, easy-to-use 840 Series aluminum belt cutter.

Designed to enhance operator safety on belts up to 84" (2.1m) wide, the 840 Cutter grips belts securely. The chain-driven, double-edged safety blade is shielded from operator contact, and cuts rubber or PVC belts up to 1" (25mm) thick. The blade can be driven from either end of the cutter and cuts in both directions.

Sturdy aluminum construction means lighter weight for easy maneuverability and corrosion resistance in wet underground mining environments.

Alligator Ready SetAlligator Ready Set

The Alligator® Ready Set™ Staple, featuring one-piece fastener strips with pre-inserted staples, reduces installation time by eliminating the need to handle and load individual staples. The result is a strong splice that resists impact damage, as well as a smooth, unrippled joint that simplifies hinge pin insertion. Staples penetrate between carcass fibers without severing them. Staples are hammer-driven through the belt and then clinched crosswise to prevent belt tension from pulling against – and unclinching – the staples. Designed for belts from 1/16" (1.5mm) to 1/4" (6.4mm), Alligator Ready Set installation requires only a hammer and a lightweight installation tool that can be easily carried to and from the job site. Choose the material that matches your application. Steel: Standard fastener material is suitable for most applications. Plated for rust and corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel: Type 316 provides extra resistance to abrasion, magnetic attraction, and corrosion from acids and chemicals. Also excellent for high-sanitary requirements. MegAlloy®: Superior resistance to wear and abrasion, providing several times the service life of steel. Not recommended where subject to impact or corrosion. Magnetic Stainless Type 430: For use with magnetic separators, and provides resistance to wear and abrasion. Plate, staples and hinge pins are all constructed from magnetic stainless steel.

The Alligator Spiral LaceAlligator Spiral Lace

Alligator® Spiral Lace is ideal for belt operations that require both nonmetallic fasteners and small pulley / low profile capabilities. Alligator Spiral Lace is excellent for applications such as package or luggage handling; x-ray equipment or metal detectors; and food or pharmaceutical processing and packaging. Spiral Lace should be installed by a qualified belt shop with experience in end-less splices then stocked as ready-to-use replacement belt. Easy installation reduces downtime, simply remove the hinge pin, replace the belt, and reinsert the hinge pin. The removable hinge pin design also allows for special cleaning requirements.

Deflector™ Belt Plows feature an exclusive, innovative blade design. The blade's 20° leading edge "spirals" debris off the return-side belt surface. Compare this to ordinary flat-blade plows that often just let debris roll under the blade. Deflector Belt Plows are also easy to install on virtually any conveyor structure, and come complete with universal mounting hardware. Self-adjusting unit eliminates the need to readjust to accommodate blade wear. Stainless steel turnbuckle permits precise adjustment so the plow can be fine-tuned to the belt at installation and eliminate unit vibration. Elliminator U TypeElliminator U Type

Our innovative secondary cleaner is unmatched for superior belt cleaning efficiency - especially in tough applications with wet, sticky carryback materials. Also excellent for cupped conveyor belts and belts with worn centers. The patented U-shaped blade conforms to the belt. The blade's carbide tips scrape stubborn materials off the belt while the rubber backer "squeegees" wet materials. The dual-spring tensioner also maintains low, uniform blade pressure across the entire width of the belt. The combination of the U-shaped blade and offset pole intensifies cleaning power in the material-carrying center of the belt. A choice of two blades includes long-wearing tungsten carbide (safe for use with mechanical splices, provided splice is skived and any bolts are ground down) and an extended-life urethane blade.

Unlike ordinary precleaners the H-Type® features a unique design that maintains cleaning efficiency, even as the blade wears. Segmented blades are mounted on individual, pretensioned cushions. This means consistent blade tension is maintained across the width of the belt - especially at the faster-wearing, material-carrying center of the belt. The benefits: superior cleaning combined with much less blade-tensioning maintenance. Designed for installation on the head pulley - the most practical location for carryback removal - the H-Type is suitable as a single cleaner in light- or medium-duty applications. Here is the easy-to-use, lightweight and sturdy belt clamps, specially designed for the cramped confines of underground mines. With a load capacity up to three tons (2.7 metric tons) when used with two 1-1/2-ton chain come-alongs, it securely grips belts up to 1" (25mm) thick. And it adjusts easily to fit a variety of belt widths, eliminating the need to inventory different clamp bars for different widths. The Far-Pul® Belt Clamps feature a unique design and rugged construction. Provides even tensioning across the entire belt width. The clamp bars are held in place from the outside. Plus the scissors slide easily into place against both belt edges for easy adjustability. When conventional rubber lagging fails to correct belt slippage, the solution is Flex-Lag® Ceramic Tile Lagging. Our Ceramic Tile Lagging features the highest coefficient of friction available in lagging materials - two to three times the friction of rubber in wet, muddy or dry conditions. Ceramic tiles consisting of a raised profile pattern of buttons are molded into a durable rubber backing. Under normal belt compression, thousands of molded ceramic buttons embed themselves into the belt's underside, providing positive, non-abrasive traction. The raised pattern of our ceramic surface features a unique design that eliminates the sharp particles and abrasive edges associated with other styles of ceramic lagging.

Our versatile skirt clamp design makes it easy to eliminate loading-point spillage on any conveyor loading site - even in severe heavy-loading applications. Flex-Lok™ installs easily and features a unique interlocking design that allows one person to replace or reposition skirt rubber. When properly installed, the skirt rubber will not rub on the belt or cause premature wear or gouge marks on the belts. Flex-Lok utilizes a unique clamp pin and wedge lock assembly, so the assembly can be locked in any position 360° around the pin. Tatch A Cleat Econo CleatTatch A Cleat Econo Cleat

The long-lasting Econo-Cleat® is an economical option for a wide variety of material conveying, including harvesting and material handling. Choose specially compounded, high-durability EPDM rubber for excellent resistance to abrasion and the effects of weather. Or select PVC for less demanding applications. The design of the Econo-Cleat eliminates the need for separate internal cleat support, so short sections can be butted together to keep remnants to a minimum. And exceptional durability means cleats can be reused after the belt wears out. The shape of the cleat, along with the resilience of the rubber compound, makes Econo-Cleat ideal for gentle handling of grains, fruits, and vegetables where bruising is a concern. Econo-Cleat is securely fastened to the belt with flathead elevator bolts, flat washers and a hex nut. No internal support is necessary. Econo-Cleat is designed with a concave bottom which draws tight and seals itself against the belt when fastened.

Tatch A Cleat Model HDTatch A Cleat Model HD

Tatch-A-Cleat® Model HD is a heavy-duty cleat, engineered to stand up to abrasive, high-impact applications such as mining, agriculture, construction, scrap, trash-burning, and material handling. Model HD cleats are manufactured from an abrasion-resistant SBR compound for added durability. In addition, the HD displays high tensile strength and flexibility, so it can be used in troughing conveyors or in applications employing horseshoe, chevron or crescent patterns. Features a smooth exterior for quick cleanup, and special sealing edges to lockout dirt and moisture. Model HD is available in the standard 1" (25mm) height or 2" (50mm). In addition the top edges of the HD2 are rounded to prevent bruising of conveyed material.

Tatch A Cleat Scoop CleatTatch A Cleat Scoop Cleat

When required by special application needs, Tatch-A-Cleat® is available in four bondable cleat styles: T Cleats, V-Guides, Scoop Cleats and Flanges. Unlike the T Cleat, which has an upright that is perpendicular to the base, the upright of the Scoop Cleat is at a 60° angle to the base. When operating on an incline, this allows the Scoop Cleat to gently cradle the product up a more aggressive incline. It also helps to prevent the product from rolling back over the top of the cleat. T Cleats are an efficient profile used to move material up inclines. The top of the cleat has a full radius, which gently transports the material to avoid bruising and marking of the product. The bottom edges taper, allowing for a smooth transition between belt and cleat. Also available in a heavy-duty configuration. These cleats offer greater carrying capacity for heavier objects. When required by special application needs, Tatch-A-Cleat® is available in four bondable cleat styles: T Cleats, V-Guides, Scoop Cleats and Flanges. V-Guides are an effective way to track belts. Applied to the underside of the belt, the V-guides operate within the notches in the pulley, keeping the belt tracking properly. Both rubber and PVC V-guides are available in the standard smooth configuration, while the notched V-guides are available in PVC only. Notched V-guides can operate over smaller diameter pulleys. Tatch A GuideTatch A Guide

Easy-to-install, V-shaped rubber guides help keep belts centered over split or grooved pulleys. Attached firmly to the underside of the belt, using only a belt punch and screwdriver, Tatch-A-Guide® is a remarkably simple way to solve belt-tracking problems. Intermittent spacing and notched design provide easy flexing over pulleys, and the ends are tapered for self-alignment in grooved pulleys. Tatch-A-Guide is molded from high-tensile strength neoprene rubber specially compounded for its abrasion and oil resistance. Durable brass inserts vulcanized inside the guides provide secure attachment and a tight seal once installed.

Tatch-A-Peg eliminates movement once product is on the belt. It can be installed in any pattern or size to match your application, and can also be positioned to let the belt pass over split or rubber-disc return idlers. Non-marking, molded isoprene, FDA-approved pegs are available in 2" (50mm) and 3" (75mm) sizes with a choice of plated or stainless steel fasteners.
